Product Description Bestselling author of Thin Tastes Better, Dr. Stephen Gullo lets you in on his unique program which has a success rate almost 15 times higher than the national average and has helped patients lose more than 100 pounds and maintain the weight loss for more than five years. At Dr. Gullo's Institute for Health and Weight Sciences in New York City patients wait up to six months for an appointment and pay over $1,000 an hour for the secrets he imparts in this book.
Dr. Gullo's program, incorporating his more than 25 years of clinical experience, features The Ten Thin Commandments that govern all eating habits, and his easy-to-follow ABC Diet plan.
In Part One, Dr. Gullo shares his Thin Commandments, including:
? Think historically, not just calorically--identify trigger foods that can undermine weight loss
? Slips should teach you, not defeat you--uncover the "24 hour secret" and never gain weight from binging again
? Success is about substitution, not denial--discover the 10 most common diet-busting foods and their satisfying substitutes
In Part Two, Dr. Gullo outlines his simple ABC Diet plan. He takes the guesswork out of dieting and offers a three-step program, which begins with a ten-day turbocharged plan that helps melt away pounds quickly and easily. The ABC Diet is complete with menu plans and shopping lists.

Thin Commandmants Rule May 31, 2008 This book is excellent. It covers all of the psychological reasons why the maintenance part of dieting fails. The bariatric surgeons need to take heed of the importance of these principles of behavior management. I highly recommend everyone read it.
WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT,THIS IS FOR YOU. May 19, 2008 BEST INFORMATION AND REALITY CHECK I EVER READ. STOP FEELING DEPRIVED ON A DIET. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT,GET THIS BOOK. ARRIVED FAST AND IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AS PROMISED BY SELLER.
The Thin Commandments March 15, 2008 I had obtained a copy of this book from the local public library so I knew it was what I wanted. The price, from an Amazon associate, was great and I received the book in about a week.
Dr. Gullo's basic ideas, rating youself weekly, keeping a food diary, and listening to power suggestion tapes, haave worked well for me. He develops these basics lucidly in ten chapters.
The book's failure is the presentation of recipes and diet menus at the end of the book. I tried them and, although they were low calory and would cause weight loss, the recipes, ranging from bland to tasteless, were disappointing and I dropped them quickly.
But Dr. Gullo's work. Now, if only someone would come up with recipes that really taste good and are low calory.....
Good emotional advice for dieters, but the diet relies to much on fake food March 2, 2008 I'd really like to find a diet book that doesn't rely on processed diet foods so much. But the emotional advice is excellent and could be applied to any diet you choose to try.
Good Book, Horrible Crispbread! October 25, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is well written and takes a good approach to weight loss. Of course there are no miracles and while this book doesn't offer one it is good read and does give some good advice. The one thing I have to comment on is the Scandinavian Bran Crispbread. While it was not available in my area I was able to order if off the Internet. My package came yesterday and so I was very excited to try it. It was one of the worse things I have ever tasted. I truly believe it is good for weight loss and only contains 16 calories per slice but it was just like eating a piece of cardboard, maybe worse. I do not consider myself a picky eater and have eaten many bland and "diet" foods before but this was truly awful. So just as a warning...if you have to order it off the Internet, beware and you may want to just eat the box it comes in instead!
